Varroa Mites Treatment

Safety Warning

Always wear proper safety gear:

• Thick gloves
• Respirator (full face mask with ABE1P3 or ABE2P3 combined filter inserts)
• Safety glasses (if you do not use a full‑face mask)
• Long sleeves
• For outdoor use only!

⚠️ The unit retains heat long after use. Do not set the device on flammable materials such as grass or straw. Only transport the unit after it fully cools down.

Battery Socket

Two versions available: compatible with DeWALT and Makita batteries. Please confirm which version fits your market before purchasing. Battery is NOT included.

Operating Steps

1. Connect your battery

• Ensure the power switch is OFF before startup.
• The display will show current temperature; the heater does not activate at this stage.

2. Power on the heater Let the unit boot for 3–5 seconds, then flip the switch to turn on the heater.
3. Check battery voltage before treatment Voltage management extends battery service life. Do NOT operate the battery below 15V. Built‑in low‑voltage protection cuts off the unit at ~15.4V. The unit only starts if the battery voltage is above 17.2V.
4. Start treatment

• Wait until the unit reaches the set temperature (SV). Recommended preset temperature: 230°C.
• Press the plunger into oxalic acid to load the required dose. Insert the plunger into the vaporizer and push down.
• Begin treating the next hive once the actual temperature (PV) approaches the set value.

5. Finish treatment

• Switch off the unit and let it cool down. Remove the battery; do not leave the battery installed after use.
• Do not store batteries in discharged status for long periods. Charge batteries the same day after use.
• Clean the vaporizer following the Maintenance section.

Plunger Dosage Setting

1. Pull the plunger out of the vaporizer. ⚠️ Note: The plunger becomes HOT – handle carefully.
2. Refer to the indicator marks on the tube. Each mark 1 = 1 gram of oxalic acid dihydrate.
3. Twist the handle to adjust the dosage.

Maintenance

Clean the device after finishing daily treatments.

1. Let the unit cool to approximately 80°C. Keep the battery connected with the power switch OFF to monitor temperature. ⚠️ Hot equipment can generate steam and cause burns, operate carefully.
2. Rinse the bowl with water via the plunger tube.

• Do NOT pour large volumes of water. Keep water away from other components and the plunger shaft.
• Damage caused by water ingress voids the warranty.

3. After draining the bowl, heat the unit to evaporate residual standing water.
4. Rinse and scrub the plunger in water to clear residue.

• Add one drop of mineral oil or grease to the O‑ring to extend service life and ensure smooth operation.

Periodic deep cleaning

Pour approx. 20 ml water through the plunger tube into the cooled unit. Replace the plunger and power on the heater to boil the water inside. This thoroughly cleans the bowl. Temperature will stay below 110°C until all water evaporates.
