{"id":16569,"date":"2024-12-01T16:24:43","date_gmt":"2024-12-01T16:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/charliebeekeeping.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=16569"},"modified":"2026-01-26T17:50:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T17:50:31","slug":"varroa-easy-check-bottle","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/charliebeekeeping.com\/index.php\/product\/varroa-easy-check-bottle\/","title":{"rendered":"Varroa Easy Check Bottle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Varroa Easy Check Bottle<\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Washing fluid, such as winter windshield washer fluid, containing alcohol; or rubbing alcohol diluted with water at a 1:4 ratio.<br \/>\nUse a product that does not foam to facilitate counting mites.<br \/>\nThis process can make the bees quite irritable.<br \/>\nWe recommend you wear protective bee clothing, including gloves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COLLECT THE BEES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pour just enough of the liquid in the bottom of the bowl to cover the bottom of the white basket.<\/li>\n<li>Choose a frame of capped brood and locate the queen, isolate and protect her.<\/li>\n<li>Collect a sample of bees&#8217; and place it inside the basket. You can collect the sample using the device (keeping the basket insid the bowl) or using your preferred or current method.<\/li>\n<li>When the desired level of bees is reached&#8221;, place the basket into the bowl containing the washing liquid, place and twist the cover into place, and shake once to immerse the bees in the liquid to prevent them from escaping.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the lid and fill the bowl with washing liquid to the level indicated on the transparent bowl.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>VARROA SEPARATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Re-place the lid and tighten, and gently shake the Varroa Check tool up and down for 60 seconds.
